What is the DDA?
The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is a quasi-governmental entity affiliated with the City of Cheyenne. It is primarily funded through a special district tax assessment and tax increment financing. These funds are directed toward planning and management of development or improvement activities, marketing and promotion, business development activities, capital improvements and administrative costs to provide these services.
The DDA is comprised of a volunteer Board of Directors committed to the improvement and revitalization of downtown Cheyenne. The Board establishes the long term vision, and the three DDA committees serve to assist in accomplishing those defined objectives.

COMMITTEES
Urban Design
Chair, Dave Ohde
This hard working committee includes a cross section of design expertise as well as representatives from the City. They consider Capital Improvement Grant applications, plan DDA Streetscape and design projects, review downtown projects and monitor and provide solutions for design related issues for downtown.
Downtown Beautification
Chair, Dayle Petrillo
This group is responsible for the beautification of downtown including the placement and design of the downtown planters. Other projects include new trash cans and benches for downtown, lighting for the trees, banners and holiday decorations.
Downtown Cheyenne Mercantile Association
The Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority has recently helped facilitate the organization of a new downtown merchants association. The DCMA is an autonomous membership organization which the Cheyenne DDA partially funds but, when fully functional, will run separately from the Cheyenne DDA supporting the needs and interests of the Downtown Merchants.
